  RED AND WILD:
The UGA student chapter of The Wildlife Society totally dominated the 2005 Southeastern Wildlife Conclave at the University of Florida, winning 1st place overall among the 17 schools competing.
 

 

  • Eminent scholar in water resources whose research and council helps policy makers in managing water quality and supplies.

  • A Josiah Meigs Teaching Professor, and a Distinguished Research Professor, the highest awards for teaching and research at UGA.

  • Eminent scholar in forest biotechnology whose work uses the tools of biotech-nology to enhance forest productivity and sustainability.

  • $1.3 million Aquatic Biotechnology and Environmental Laboratory, where researchers investigate the effects of environmental contaminants on human health.

  • Among the top wildlife programs in the nation, with internationally recognized research and conservation faculty.

  • Only existing Center for Forest Business in the nation.

  • The Wood Quality Consortium, a research cooperative whose scientists develop new uses for wood and wood products.

  • Fisheries program that includes the production and reintroduction of threatened and endangered species and economically important sports fisheries.
