  Student ambassadors :
Students in the University of Georgia Student Ambassadors Program are teaching local high school students about international current events and world geography by using live, interactive presentations on topics ranging from the Arab-Israeli conflict to the war in Chechnya to human rights in China. The recent National Geographic–Roper 2002 Global Geographic Literacy Survey showed that young Americans scored second to last among nine nations on a test of geography and world events. MORE

Campaign Goals

The School of Public and International Affairs is the home of three academic departments: the Department of International Affairs, the Department of Political Science and the Department of Public Administration and Policy. It includes two centers: the Center for International Trade and Security (CITS) and the Center for the Study of Global Issues (GLOBIS). It also includes two co-sponsored programs: the Criminal Justice Studies Program and the Institute for Nonprofit Organizations.

The School specializes in education and research for citizenship and public service in local, state, national and international settings. The Dean and faculty have identified a number of gift opportunities through which alumni and friends may partner with SPIA to achieve these objectives. Gifts may be pledged over five years.
